Top 99 Women 2008 (AskMen) - The Result

As some of you may recall, I made a short post (which you can see here) about Kate's potentional footing in this list back in late December. Well now, the waiting has come to an end.

Our Kate has been voted the 3rd (of 99 possible places)hottest women in their recent 2008 list.

*Don't ask me about "my rating". I haven't a clue how that got there, let alone the fact that I wouldn't rate her anything less than 100%..


Kate Beckinsale may be the darling of British theater and American art house films, but she has also saved Pearl Harbor, proved that vampires can be sexy in Underworld, wowed Howard Hughes in The Aviator, and scared audiences in Vacancy. She's from England, so everything that comes out of her luscious mouth is sexy. And she's more than just a pretty face: Kate is Oxford-educated. We know you love this British beauty... that’s why Kate Beckinsale is No. 3.

Top 99 Women 2008 (AskMen)

It's that time again folks. On January 31st of 2008, AskMen.com will reveal an entirely new list of the Top 99 most desirable women. While Kate was voted as the 22nd most desirable woman in 2005 by AskMen, her 2006 placement of 74th was a complete farce. But then what can you expect, not everyone has great taste... :-p

Unfortuntately, and as you all already know, 2007 hasn't been the most exciting year for us Kate fanatics. She hadn't much, if any media exposure. That being said, I'm not expecting her placement to rise all that much.

Nevertheless, let's keep our figures crossed, and hope for the best!

Kate: Top 25 Sexiest HW Stars

According to a recent poll conducted by Empire magazine, Kate was voted as one of the top 25 sexiest Hollywood stars of all time!

Of course, I think she should be #1, but there's still much reason to rejoyce. ;)

Angelina Jolie has topped a list of the 100 Sexiest Movie Stars Ever.

Angelina claimed the prestigious title because of her "pneumatic figure, feline eyes and lips that could have been stung by several hives of bees".

She narrowly beat Natalie Portman, who finished in second position after "making baldness sexy" in 'V for Vendetta' and setting men's pulses racing with her raunchy pole dancing scene in 'Closer'.

James Bond actor Daniel Craig - who wowed women in 'Casino Royale' when he emerged from the ocean in a pair of tight-fitting blue swimming trunks - came third, while 'Fantastic Four' beauty Jessica Alba finished fourth.

'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Johnny Depp rounded off the top five.
Other entries on the list, which was voted for by 20,000 film fans, included Matt Damon - who was recently voted People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2007 - who took 17th spot.

British stars Christian Bale, Kate Winslet, Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale and Clive Owen all made it in to the top 25, with 'Harry Potter' actor Daniel Radcliffe coming in at 23.

'Volver' actress Penelope Cruz took 50th position and the entire list was rounded off by 'Die Hard 4.0' actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

I agree... It's more than somewhat of a shallow poll, but I thought I'd post it anyways. Kate's currently in third place with 49 votes, or 22% of the votes.

"Favourite Kate"

Just Yesterday, DearSugar.com set up a poll asking it's readers who out of the many Kate's in Hollywood, etc was their favourite. The poll, which includes 6 different individuals with the name "Kate", has already managed to rack up an astonshing 682 votes. And unforuntately, our Kate isn't doing too well. With just 87 votes (including mine), she 20 votes behind Kate Walsh, 45 behind Kate Hudson and some 159 votes behind Kate Winslet!

So c'mon then, help me and let's get Beckinsale above Walsh. =)

Kate Nominated For "Scream Queen"!

Good news my fellow Kate fanatics! Kate has just been nominated for the "Scream Queen" award from Spike TV for her performance in "Vacancy".

Do take note that this will be the second year in a row that Kate has been nominated for this particular award. Last year she took the crown (that of which can be seen here) for her performance in "Underworld: Evolution" beating out the likes of Natalie Portman, Asia Argento and Naomi Watts.

Online voting started this past Friday, I encourage you to chip you're vote in and help Kate win that bloody award! ;-)

BT'07 Update #7

Having crushed everyone in her wake, it appears that Kate has finally met her "maker", Elisha Cuthbert. To keep it short - If Kate loses this match, she's out! And right now, it's not looking so good as she's behind some 12 votes (31 vs 41 respectively).

Frankly though, I'm not surprised; after all, Ms. Cuthbert is one of the most popular celebrity girls anywhere. Nevertheless, Kate held in there and crushed most everyone else in her wake. I was more than proud to support her along the way.

BT'07 Update #6

Kate's second match up in the knock out stage of the 2007 Skins.be Babe Tournament ended early this morning and much to my surprise, she absolutely crushed her opponent (Megan Fox) without any troubles. The ending result was a massive 70 votes for Kate and a mere 30 for Ms. Fox. Suffice to say, Kate will be advancing to the next stage of knock out matches; her next opponent is undetermined as the moment.

BT'07 Update #5

Kate's first match-up in Knock-out stage of the 2007 Skins.be Babe Tournament is going very well!

Last week I had predicted that battling of against Petra Nemcova would be a tough competition, but it's turns out that I was completely wrong (thankfully!). As of right now, she's leads Petra by 27 votes. Suffice to say, Kate will be heading to the 2nd stage of the knock-out round.

BT'07 Update #4

And the winner is...Kate! Not of the whole tournament (sad to say), but rather her specific group. She is advancing to the 'Knock Out' round having trumped all three of the other babes in her particular group. Her last match, against French beauty Jennifer Lamiraqui, ended as of yesterday; and you'll be happy to know she whipped Jen by 40 some votes!

Her next (and first 'knock out') match-up starts on the 14th of August and it's against Greek beauty Petra Nemcova. I have a strong feeling this match is going to be a tough one.

Kate's second match in the 2007 Skins.be Babe Tournament (first spoken of here) started today.

This time she is facing off against Karolina Kurova and I am proud to say that she is clearly the preferred babe - leading Karolina by 34 votes!

Kate's first battle in the 2007 Skins.be Babe Tournament (that I previously commented on here & here) has now started! For her first match, she faces off against Natalie Portman and as of right now, she leads Portman by 13 votes!

Kate in 'Babe Tournament 2007'

It's never a surprise when you see a 'babe tournament' on an Internet forum. This is of course, where a number of celebrity women are gathered together for a contest to determine who is the 'hottest' girl by a vote of forum members. Having said that, I'm proud to announce that I'll be sponsoring both Kate Beckinsale and Sophia Bush in the 2007 Babe Tournament on www.Skins.be.

There will be a total of 16 groups with each one pitting 4 girls against each other - further to that, each of the groups will have 6 different matches where each of the 4 girls, will have a chance to face off against each other.

A total of 64 babes will be represented

Kate is situated in group #13 and will start off by facing against: Natalie Portman; Karolina Kurkova & Jennifer Lamiraqui. While the tournament has not yet started, I promise to keep my fellow Kate fanatics informed as BT'07 progress'.
