Kate & American Accents
28/03/2008 19:12
British actress Kate Beckinsale perfected her American accent as a child, with a TV diet of The A-Team and Knight Ride. The Pearl Harbor beauty believes British actors find it easier to pick up an American twang, because they grow up watching popular U.S. shows. And she admits she was no exception. The 34-year-old tells AOL Movies, "There are some American actors that do (it well). I thought Anne Hathaway did a fantastic British accent in Becoming Jane. But on the whole, I think we have to do it more, and we hear it more growing up. "I know that I came to America and I could perfectly understand everything everybody was saying, because we grew up on Knight Rider and The A-Team."

Kate Wants Part in "24"
Kate Beckinsale is begging the producers of hit TV show 24 to hand her a role alongside its star Kiefer Sutherland.
The British actress is hooked on the real-time drama, and would love to play the head of the fictional Counter Terrorist Unit, and become the boss of Sutherland’s character Jack Bauer.
She says, “I’m compulsively addicted to 24. I love that show. Just hearing the music of it makes me feel so confident … (Maybe) I can be the head of CTU.”

Richard Beckinsale Documentary
There's a nice documentary on the life of Richard Beckinsale (Kate's father) available on YouTube courtesy of "ravenhearst09". It's four separate parts, and includes interviews with the entire family, including our beloved Kate of course. The show aired in 2001 on "ITV".

Part 2

Here's part 3, which includes interviews with Kate.

Spike TV Awards?
As most are already aware, the 2007 Spike TV Movie Awards aired this past Tuesday, and according to multiple sources Kate won the "Scream Queen Award". Yet, I still have yet to find any real confirmation on this as for starters, I don't have cable television thus I wasn't able to watch the show for myself and two, I haven't seen any news headlines nor pictures from the event. Suffice to say, if Kate did in fact win this particular award, she didn't make an appearance.
Can anyone confirm? Did Kate win?
