Kate & American Accents

28/03/2008 19:12

British actress Kate Beckinsale perfected her American accent as a child, with a TV diet of The A-Team and Knight Ride. The Pearl Harbor beauty believes British actors find it easier to pick up an American twang, because they grow up watching popular U.S. shows. And she admits she was no exception. The 34-year-old tells AOL Movies, "There are some American actors that do (it well). I thought Anne Hathaway did a fantastic British accent in Becoming Jane. But on the whole, I think we have to do it more, and we hear it more growing up. "I know that I came to America and I could perfectly understand everything everybody was saying, because we grew up on Knight Rider and The A-Team."

Kate Dislikes English Weather

LONDON: British actress Kate Beckinsale says she has lived so long in Los Angeles that she can no longer tolerate the cold and damp weather of England.

Beckinsale believes she is "a really bad English person" because she hates the weather. She was upset recently with the torrential rain in Los Angeles, contactmusic.com reports.

She said: "I've had the training in the wind and snow, but I've completely lost my tolerance for bad weather. I'm terrible. I can't even go home in the winter."

LOL Yes, she likes LA weather, she's learned to drive, she faux tans, she wears trendy clothes, even when shopping at Target. In short, Kate is now an LA girl!!!

Special hahaha to Russ, you miserable douchebag. I'm sure you're reading this under some username you've slipped past me. Guess who was right about whether she would stay in LA or go back to the UK?

Kate Beckinsale: 'Willis Stole My Husband'

Hollywood star Kate Beckinsale was once jealous of actor Bruce Willis - because he spent valuable time with her husband Len Wiseman on the set of Die Hard 4.0. The actress resents Wiseman's occupation because it means he is away from home for months - and she is not impressed when the director spends more time with his cast than her.

She says, "When Len was directing Die Hard 4.0, I felt so lonely because he was virtually a stranger for several months. He only came home to sleep."

However the Pearl Harbor star has found a way for the couple to make up for lost time. "I told him he'd have to make it up to me. After he finished the film, I didn't let him out of bed for a month!"
