Chose Underworld to Shock Hollywood

British beauty Kate Beckinsale chose to star in vampire movie Underworld D to prove to Hollywood she was more than an English period actress. Beckinsale was sick of being typecast as an English maiden after starring in the 1996 TV adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma and the 1993 Shakespearean movie Much Ado About Nothing. She says, "This is still a complete riot to me that anyone lets me be in an action movie. Before I did Underworld, every time I walked into a room I would think there was a whiff of crumpets and fine china. If the character was a cop or whatever, it was, 'No, Kate's from England.' "So I just wanted to do something with a little bit more edge and then it took off a little bit more than I thought it would."

BT'07 Update #5

Kate's first match-up in Knock-out stage of the 2007 Skins.be Babe Tournament is going very well!

Last week I had predicted that battling of against Petra Nemcova would be a tough competition, but it's turns out that I was completely wrong (thankfully!). As of right now, she's leads Petra by 27 votes. Suffice to say, Kate will be heading to the 2nd stage of the knock-out round.

Apparently Kate was taking Lily to a sleep over when their good 'ol Ranger Rover broke down (which frankly, is what they do best).

BT'07 Update #4

And the winner is...Kate! Not of the whole tournament (sad to say), but rather her specific group. She is advancing to the 'Knock Out' round having trumped all three of the other babes in her particular group. Her last match, against French beauty Jennifer Lamiraqui, ended as of yesterday; and you'll be happy to know she whipped Jen by 40 some votes!

Her next (and first 'knock out') match-up starts on the 14th of August and it's against Greek beauty Petra Nemcova. I have a strong feeling this match is going to be a tough one.
